My PNW BJD Expo 2024 Trip!
This weekend, I attended PNW BJD Expo! This technically wasn’t my first time attending. I actually attended back in 2019! The convention was held in Seattle back then. Casie of BeBeBlytheCo took over the convention in 2021 and moved it to its new home in Portland. The convention was lots of fun, so let’s give a big thanks to Casie for keeping the fun going!

PNW BJD Expo ran from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Friday night’s main event was the dessert social. There were fruits, cakes, tarts, tea, and more! We had more than enough for everyone to get seconds, so that was awesome!
⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
All of the food throughout the weekend was surprisingly great! Hotel food tends to be pretty hit or miss - mostly miss - but thankfully we had a rare hit here!
This year’s theme was Angels and Devils. I brought my Rendezvous, 2018 Raspberry, and Blythe with me to the convention. Even though BJD is in the convention’s name, the convention was welcoming towards all types of dolls!
I met quite a few lovely dolls and their equally lovely owners during the social! :) It was a great start to the convention, and it was nice to be able to recognize some folks on Saturday.
I only brought my Rendezvous to the dessert social since I was already running late (lesson learned: don’t assume your flight’s arrival time is actually accurate). She was the angel at the devil table! ( ≧ᗜ≦)
Saturday was the big day of the convention! Check-in started at 9AM, although late person that I am, I got there a little after 10AM. (-‿-")
A themed photo wall in front of the convention check-in!! How cute is this? ♡
Attendees received a tote bag with the PNW BJD Expo logo and some amazing goodies! I still haven’t found a new doll carrier, so my tote bag became my doll carrier for the convention. Check out all of the awesome stuff that we got!
Thank you so much to all of the goodie bag contributors! Especially the ones who included candy! ( ≧ᗜ≦)
Hey, that pin looks familiar! ( ≧ᗜ≦)
I normally send some goodies to PNW BJD Expo, too. This year I contributed enamel pins. The rest of the pins were sent to Resin Rose, and that’ll be your last chance to get one of these pins. It was so fun seeing people actually wearing the pins! I’m glad people liked them enough to really use them!

The vendor room had already opened by the time I picked up my badge, so that was my first stop. The contest entries were on display there, too. Check out the winners!
I was surprisingly behaved this convention! I actually had a shopping list in mind for once, though. My Rendezvous and 2023 Raspberry have been bumming off of my 2018 Raspberry’s wigs and wardrobe, so I figured it was time to get them their own things. My 2018 Raspberry’s wig has seen better days, so I was also looking for a backup for when that thing finally falls apart.
( ≧ᗜ≦)
I bought three wigs from Jamie’s BJD Prop Shop and a gorgeous dress from La Mienne Doll. Both shop owners will also be attending Resin Rose! Let’s see what they look like on my Rendezvous.
Here’s that gorgeous new wig.
Here she is in her new outfit next to Raspberry! Aren’t they adorable? ♡
Saturday was full of workshops, although I didn’t personally go to any! I should next year! I heard lots of great things about them. There were workshops for making resin eyes, beginner faceups, restringing, and even crocheting a hat for your dolls.
We had a banquet dinner Saturday evening. Again, surprisingly good food! There was also dessert - yum! We got to take leftovers, so I had a late night snack waiting for me.
(‘’❛ - „)❀
Our table was packed! There were so many cool dolls all in one place - I just had to take a video!
My Blythe finally made an appearance on Sunday at the Blythe Breakfast! Check out our little army of Blythes! Somehow more made their way up front while we were all eating, but I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the new additions.
My Blythe is the one with the red stand. ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ
We had a delicious buffet-style breakfast with fruits, bacon, potatoes, challah French toast, and a little bagel bar! We played bingo for some prizes and also got to pick theme ideas for next year. Voting will happen later on Facebook.
After the vendor room closed, contest winners were announced and prizes were handed out. I actually won a raffle for once! Funny enough, the last time I won a raffle was also at PNW BJD Expo back in 2019! Maybe this is my lucky convention! ( ≧ᗜ≦)
I think my 2023 Raspberry is getting this one!
I’m heading back home tomorrow (weather permitting - I’ve been getting severe thunderstorm warnings all weekend from Texas), but this was such a fun weekend! I saw lots of beautiful dolls and made so many friends! I will definitely be coming back next year!
